Our Vision

As pleased as I am with the success of Gloves for Kids, I feel there is so much more we can do. As I have learned in my own life, it takes two very important factors to succeed: tools and a mentor.

Baseball players don't make it to the Major Leagues simply because somebody gave them a glove and a bat. Doctors don't find employment at a hospital because they have a stethoscope around their neck. Announcers don't broadcast games because they were given a microphone.

At some point all of these people had a teacher, a role model, or a mentor that showed them how to use their gifts and the tools of their trades. The Footprints Foundation wants to give a deserving young person an athletic tool to participate in athletics and provide the instruction and leadership required to succeed in athletics and relationships with teammates. Funds raised by the Footprints Foundation will be used to provide quality equipment and uniforms for young athletes through events like Gloves for Kids. However, this is just the beginning.

Our vision for the Footprints Foundation is much larger than handing a child an athletic tool. We hope to recruit mentors and coaches that will invest their time towards the athletic and social development of these young athletes. We hope to create "elite" teams of deserving youth that will stay together for years instead of weeks or months.

As the Footprints Foundation grows we hope to send our teams to faith-based sports and leadership camps. Eventually we hope to grow in such a manner that we will have the financial ability to send our Footprints Foundation graduates to college. It will be a great privilege and challenge to belong to a Footprints Foundation elite sports team.

Gloves for Kids and similar future events invest in the tools, a great beginning. The Footprints Foundation invests in the children and their future.
